An exploration of the silent era Charlie Chaplin film cartoons produced in the United States of America from 1915 to 1923. Movca Film Service, under the creative direction of John Terry and Hugh Shields, released 17 Chaplin cartoons in their series, in 1915. Essanay Film Manufacturing Company released one cartoon featuring Chaplin, in Dreamy Dud Sees Charlie Chaplin, by Wallace Carlson. Pat Sullivan Studios produced 10 Chaplin cartoons in their series, from 1918 to 1919, then presented a cameo of the little tramp in their 1923 animated short, Felix in Hollywood. A look at the creators, the artwork, and promotional, advertising materials.
